It was considered the Sport of Kings, literally. Thanks to racing syndicates \u2013 where multiple people invest in horses collectively \u2013 anyone can own a racehorse and experience the excitement and privileges without making king-worthy investments!<\/p>\n
Syndicates are run by a Managing Partner who handles all of the day-to-day administrative details, including paying the bills, coordinating the farrier and veterinary visits, working directly with the trainers, and handling the care of the horses. Each racing partnership is created as an individual Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) where Thoroughbred Racing Nation acts as the Managing Member. We retain an equity interest in the partnership alongside the other investors. The investors in the syndicate pay small quarterly portions of the bills and expenses \u2013 equivalent to their percentage of ownership.<\/p>\n
In simple terms, syndicates are cost-effective ways to fully realize the dream of Thoroughbred racehorse ownership. Also, because we meticulously choose states to breed and race in based on incentives awarded, our partners also share proportionately the purse monies and the breeder and owner awards.<\/p>\n
Our horses are acquired either by auction, private purchase, a claiming race, or by result of our breeding program. All partners share in income and expenses in proportion to their capital investment. If a horse earns a profit in excess of what is needed to maintain an expense reserve, we make a distribution to the partners with the excess cash.
