Management Team
Manny Cadima
Founder / Managing Partner
Manny earned his BS Degree in Business Management and Economics from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. As a student, he spent much of his free time at Monmouth Park and Freehold Raceway where he gained a deeper understanding and respect for racehorses. This is also when he developed his handicapping skills! While in college, Manny worked as a hotwalker and a groom at Monmouth Park. He also became a sportswriter and a handicapper for the Long Branch Daily Record.
Manny spent three decades as a Human Resources leader for national transportation, manufacturing, and consumer products companies where he helped leaders, teams, and organizations achieve breakthrough results for their companies. The skills he developed – and taught to others – are the same skills he brings with him to Thoroughbred Racing Nation.
Manny settled in Kentucky where he founded The Louisville Thoroughbred Club which grew to be the largest racing fan organization in the Midwest. A few years later, in 2000, he opened the doors to Thoroughbred Racing Nation.
The Louisville Thoroughbred Club, Thoroughbred Racing Nation, and Manny have all been featured over the years in prestigious national publications including the Louisville Courier Journal, Louisville Magazine, Lane Report, Business First, Blood-Horse Magazine, and Horseplayer Magazine. He has also been featured in international publications including the London Financial Times and the Irish Times.
Manny also continues to lead seminars and training courses educating both new and seasoned racing fans about Thoroughbred horses, the racing industry, and strategies for investing and winning at the races. His seminars and presentations are filled with knowledge, inspiration, and lots of fun! They are offered throughout the year at the Kentucky Derby Museum, and other leading organizations seeking to strengthen their business relationships with customers and clients.
Julie Price
Partner / Relations Manager
Born and raised in Kentucky, Julie is a lifelong Thoroughbred enthusiast and is a key member of the Thoroughbred Racing Nation team. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Bellarmine University, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Kentucky. Julie has worked in education as a teacher of technology and has also worked in the health care industry focusing on the care of special needs children and elderly patients. Her sensitivity and her caring and compassionate nature are a perfect fit at Thoroughbred Racing Nation. She loves working with the horses and is wonderful with the owners where she helps them to experience the joy and excitement of ownership.
One of Julie’s key roles at Thoroughbred Racing Nation is on our Leadership Team. She introduces new racing fans to the industry by showing them the Thoroughbred farms in the area, the exciting Thoroughbred auctions, and the racetracks – giving them an inside look at what it takes to get a horse from the sales ring or breeding shed to the winner’s circle.
Julie handles all of the parties, outings, and events at Thoroughbred Racing Nation and focuses on facilitating comradery among fans. She keeps partners and members up to date about their horses. She also serves on our Racing and Breeding Management Team, where she assesses potential broodmare mating, and horses for acquisition through sales – private or public.
Julie heads up the Racing Nation Thoroughbred Aftercare Team to place our retired horses into new careers or homes after they have retired from the track.
Living the Dream!
Joining a partnership at Thoroughbred Racing Nation offers our partners the experience, the thrills, and the benefits of ownership at a fraction of the cost. Rather than one person purchasing one horse, multiple partners can purchase a percentage of one or more horses – spreading the financial risks and expenses, as well as the rewards, among all the partners.
At Thoroughbred Racing Nation, we are passionate about racehorses, horse racing, and success! Whether you own 1%, 10%, 50%, or 100% of one of our racehorses, you are an owner, and this means you receive all the benefits and perks awarded to racehorse owners of every level of ownership
