In his weekly update Trainer Tim Glyshaw reports that Fire Marshall Bill has recovered from his encounter with bucked shins very well and looks better than ever. “His shins are good and strong now and he’s galloping very strong. He likes to work in company and seems to need the competition to really get him going.” “I think you’re really going to like him when he gets back to Kentucky, he is going to be OK”. “He can be a bit high strung but he really wants to compete”, said Tim.
Bill is scheduled to breeze some time this week, he had a slight fever this past weekend so it will probably be later this week when it’s clear that he ok.
At this point there is still a lot of uncertainty about when racing may resume. The last word was that Churchill Downs would begin accepting horses for training around the 28th, but no one knows for sure. It does appear the virus is beginning to come under control so hopefully things will begin to happen soon. Indiana is an option we are looking into, they expect to begin accepting horses for training between May 5 – May 10.
